Central Coast Brimming With Outdoor Attractions
Newcastle Herald
Wednesday May 27, 1998
FOR holiday fun and relaxation the Central Coast has it all.
Cruises on such popular vessels as the Lady Kendall on Brisbane Waters and on Australia's Last Riverboat Postman on the Hawkesbury are among the many water-based activities that draw people to the area during summer months.
When the temperature drops, there's time for other activities such as bushwalking in national parks and rainforests as well as enjoying the area's many other attractions.
Among these are the Australian Reptile Park, Old Sydney Town, the Forest of Tranquillity and the numerous drawcards which, in 1996-97, helped to generate $384million in tourist dollars into the Central Coast economy.
Supplementing these attractions are quality restaurants, shops and clubs as well as an excellent range of accommodation to suit all budgets.
Topping it off is a fine selection of activities for those with a taste for the arts, including festivals, high quality theatre by groups such as the 4th Wall Theatre Company, concerts and many arts and crafts galleries showcasing the work of artists from within and beyond the region.
